Volunteer with the Think Outside the Cell Foundation and have an impact!
As a volunteer, you can play an important role in our work—whether you’re a Think Outside the Cell ambassador generating a buzz about our work via tweets, emails or videos or you’re a grant researcher generating money.
Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we can use your help.
Here are a few ways to get involved now:
Grant Research Specialist
Seeking volunteers with strong online research skills; experience researching grants for nonprofits a plus
10 hours a week needed to:

Cultivate and solicit potential funding sources, including government, corporations, foundations and individuals

Identify key foundation and corporate executives and board members to provide leverage in obtaining grants
Public Relations and Community Outreach Manager
Degree in public relations, journalism or communications is a plus
10 hours a week needed to:

Plan, develop and implement public relations strategies

Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media

Foster community relations and corporate sponsorships through various events and initiatives
-
Pursue feature stories, radio interviews and tv appearances

Promote and maintain positive public image of TOTC Foundation

Maintain and update information on TOTC.org’s Press & Praise website page
Search Engine Optimizer
Seeking volunteers with at least 1 year experience in search engine optimization
10 hours a week needed to:

Develop and implement reciprocal link strategies

Get TOTC Foundation listed in all major search engines, and in other relevant search engines
-
Analyze keywords that related sites are using
-
Manage and update keywords and tags used in TOTC.org
Visual Media Manager
Seeking volunteers with at least 2 years experience developing quality video blogs, documentaries, shorts, and/or new media/digital productions
15 hours a week needed to:

Conduct interviews of TOTC book series contributors and post on YouTube and elsewhere

Conduct interviews of the formerly incarcerated and their loved ones
-
Produce “living journals,” documenting the formerly incarcerated and their families during their reentry journey
-
Manage and update Photo Gallery (i.e. Flickr, etc.) of the formerly incarcerated during their reentry journey
Social Media Manager
Looking for volunteers with at least 2 years experience building a large following on Facebook, Twitter, etc.; should be knowledgeable and current on criminal justice issues in general and NYS prison, parole and reentry issues in particular
10 hours a week needed to:
Radio Blog Guru
Looking for volunteers with at least 3 years experience planning, developing and conducting online radio/blog programs in the field of criminal justice; must be knowledgeable and current on NYS prison, parole and reentry issues; must have great radio voice; must be organized and reliable
5 hours a week needed to:

Develop and host compelling radio blog programs

Interview contributors to TOTC series

Interview the community about timely and ongoing criminal justice issues

Interview legislators, policy makers, educators, etc. about timely and ongoing criminal justice issues
